The Gateway NX850XL ($2,899.99 direct, as tested) is a powerful Media Center laptop that’s equally good at handling multimedia tasks and playing games. When we last reviewed this system, Gateway called it the M680XL. Now after some significant tweaks to the components, Gateway has changed the name to the NX850XL. The current incarnation offers significantly better performance, but we wish Gateway would amp up the A/V features a bit. -PC Magazine
