The HP Compaq Presario V2000 ($699 as tested) is a value notebook in the truest sense of the word. It’s void of all bells and whistles found on more expensive systems, but it performs well and comes with the basic necessities—namely a 40GB hard drive, a DVD/CD-RW combo drive, and an AMD Sempron processor, that will get you through the daily grind. -PC Magazine
